The Crowsnest Pass Chamber of Commerce hosted its annual trade fair and auto show on April 17 and 18 at the Sports Complex in Coleman. Though the number of visitors was down slightly from the previous year, the event saw a good mix of local and out-of-town businesses showing off their wares and services.
“We were very pleased at the number of out-of-town participants,” says Chamber President Lowry Toombs. “I’m quite pleased with the variety and number of participants we had.” |
Toombs says that approximately 800 people attended the show this year, down from roughly 900 in 2008. He notes that the numbers may be slightly skewed because the Chamber offered family passes this year and it’s sometimes hard to determine how many people were in the family that purchased the pass.
The comments from the businesses involved were generally very good, says Toombs, and businesses were happy to see that many people came to the trade fair in order to see a specific business that they knew was there.
The Best Booth award for this year’s trade fair was won by Border Building Materials.
