After 15 years of business in the Crowsnest Pass, Computer Guy Services is closing its doors and moving on –– but before they go, they are looking to sell absolutely everything in the store at low prices.
Tim and Karen Gillespie moved to the Pass 19 year ago and have been in business for 15, opening a small computer repair and retail business. Originally located in the Crowsnest Mall, they moved to their current location in Blairmore after the mall changed configuration to no longer have an indoor access section. |
“It’s been a good business,” says Karen, “and it’s sad to leave it.”
The computer repair industry has changed drastically over the last four or five years, she says. More people are either fixing their own computers or simply replacing them with newer computers that are more inexpensive than ever.
If not for viruses and spyware, says Karen, there would be very little business anymore. It has become difficult to make it as a small business in the computer industry.
