The owners and operators of the Colac Herald in Australia, which has exchanged papers with the Pass Herald, visited the Crowsnest Pass on a recent trip, and stopped at the Herald office to say hello on Friday, May 21.
Two of the visitors, Ann Cook and Mary Gannon (nee Bourke), have an old connection to the community. They were both nurses at the Crowsnest Pass Hospital in 1967, and have fond memories of the area.
The Colac Herald, published three times weekly in Australia, is owned by the Gannon family, and, like the Pass Herald, is one of the few remaining independent newspapers in its area.

The Pass Herald is mailed weekly to them in Australia, which just goes to show –– you never know how far your advertising dollars can go when you promote your business in the Crowsnest Pass Herald!
