The Crowsnest Pass celebrated its annual
Rum Runner Days weekend from July 15 to 17, once again drawing enormous crowds for the area’s biggest parade and the
Thunder in the Valley fireworks show. Though 38 degree heat washed over the valley, it wasn’t enough to deter local residents and visitors from throughout Alberta.
The weekend kicked off with the Bill Fukami Memorial Golf Tournament, an annual fundraiser for the high school’s Academic and Athletic Society on July 15, followed by the popular
Sole Survivor Foot Race on July 16, along with activities at Gazebo Park.
Saturday, July 17 brought the biggest and busiest events, including a pancake breakfast by the Blairmore Lions, the parade down main street Blairmore, the show ‘n shine, the midway fair, entertainment in the park, and Thunder in the Valley.
