Coach Lisa Sygutek says that these accomplishments are especially noteworthy when you account for the fact that all of the swimmers are in the bottom of their age categories, swimming against many older athletes.
She says that she and the other coaches –– Karen Hughes, Lyle Douglas, and Liz Rypien –– are extremely proud of everyone’s performance. She says that every single swimmer they brought to regionals placed in the finals of their events.
In addition, Connor Beagrie, Keiran Douglas, and Lyndon Ewen qualified for the regional relay team, as the fastest swimmers in the zone for particular styles of swimming.
In addition, Ethan Ballak qualified in boys 9&10 50m Fly, but is unable to travel to take part in provincials.
