Grant funding
Council received a letter from Municipal Affairs Minister Hector Goudreau, informing them that five municipal projects were successful in receiving Municipal
Sustainability Initiative (MSI) grant funding.
The projects include the 76th Street Water Main Replacement – a total estimated cost of $254,419 – SCADA System Migration ($164,482), 17th Avenue Infrastructure Replacement and Upgrade ($569,216), 16th Avenue Water Main Loop ($265,334), and the Frank Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade ($147,000).
Director of Operational Services Myron Thompson noted that Council still has to come up with an additional 25 per cent of the total cost for the water treatment plant upgrade.
The letter was received as information.
Orpheum sign to be restored
Council received an application from Orpheum Theatre Owner Becky Fabro for a matching heritage
conservation grant for the refurbishment of the theatre’s neon sign.
