Six teams participated in the Crownsest Pass Slo-Pitch League’s year end tournament on the weekend of August 26th and 27th, capping off a solid season.
“The tournament went really well,” said League Secretary / Treasurer Colleen McNeil. “It was a great way to end the season.”
Following games on Saturday, players wrapped things up with a party at the Greenhill with pizza from Black Rock Pizza.
“It was great to get us all together,” said McNeil.
She noted the only problem with the tournament was a lack of players on two teams, causing three of the 11 scheduled games to be cancelled. |
“With it being summer, players are gone on holidays or have family commitment,” she said.
“The league is really struggling with getting new players and keeping them.”
She added that to date, no one has come forward to volunteer as League President for the 2012 season.
“Without a president, there will be no slo-pitch,” said McNeil, adding, “the league is always looking for new teams and players.”
Anyone interested in joining the league next year or volunteering as President is encouraged to call McNeil at 403-582-1818.
