Quote of the Week
"(The Chamber of Commerce) is really where the core of this community is."
- Sergeant Keith Bott

The Crowsnest Pass Chamber of Commerce held its monthly luncheon at the Blairmore Lions Pride Hall on Wednesday, October 12th.
After members dished up their lunches, Rick Jeune of Flying Numbers provided an update on the Chamber website -crowsnestpasschamber.ca - which has been under renovation for several months and is finally up and running.
“It took longer to sort out than anticipated, but the site is now up,” Jeune told members. Jeune ran through some of the highlights of the website, including the Members page - which includes all contact information for each member business - and links to other sites such as the Municipality, which can be found under the Business Resources tab.
He also informed members that the decision to use the name crowsnestpasschamber.ca was made in order to allow people from outside the community to easily find it, instead of abbreviating it to
cnpchamber.ca.
He added that if users enter a .org or .com domain, it will automatically redirect to the correct site, which will help users find the site more easily.
“This makes it easier for the Chamber to market what it’s doing,” said Jeune.
He said additional resources and information will be added as the site grows and changes, including member to member opportunities and a section of the site which will only be accessible by Chamber members.
He added that the site welcomes members’ photography depicting the valley and surrounding areas and anyone who would like to submit a photo is welcome to.
Following Jeune’s presentation, Crowsnest Pass RCMP Sergeant Keith Bott commended the Chamber on the work that has been done on the site.

“There has been an incredible lack of information about community activities online,” said Sergeant Bott.
“This is really going to help that out.”
“(The Chamber) is really where the core of the community is,” he said.
Sergeant Bott also informed the Chamber that the RCMP will be distributing a survey asking residents for their input on enforcement activities as part of the detachment’s Annual Performance Plan (APP).
“We would like you to give detailed information on issues that are important to you,” said Sergeant Bott.
“We will take all of that information and focus on those areas.”
The questionnaire will be distributed in January, in order to have the information gathered in time to prepare the APP by April.
Following Sergeant Bott’s presentation, Chamber President Rick Breakenridge informed members of some upcoming events.
The Chamber of Commerce Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday, November 3rd at the Blairmore Legion, where members will elect the 2012 Board of Directors and name the businesses of the year.
Also, Crowsnest Pass Christmas will take place on November 17th, 18th and 19th in Blairmore.
The next Chamber Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, November 9th at the Blairmore Lions Pride Hall.
