Staff of the Pass PowderKeg Ski Resort will be holding the annual ski swap at the Elks Hall in Blairmore, offering residents a chance to procure some inexpensive ski gear.
The popular event, which is held every year prior to the start of the ski season, will take place on Saturday, November 5th beginning at 10 a.m., and equipment can be dropped off on Friday evening between 5 and 8 p.m.
“There will be lots of deals and good used equipment,” said Ski Hill Manager Dave Morrison.
He also noted that season passes, which are currently on sale for half price, will be available for purchase at the ski swap.
Passes will also be available for purchase on the Pass PowderKeg’s website, the Municipal
Office in Coleman, and the Stone’s Throw Café in Blairmore until November 12th.
Morrison said ski hill staff have been busy during the summer and fall months preparing the hill for a busy season.
“We have done tons of work in the off season to get ready for this winter,” said Morrison.
“We’ve made a lot of snow-making improvements, and we’ve been fortunate enough to add some new programs and some new equipment in the rental shop.” |

He also noted there are some new features in the terrain park, and that a lot of work has been done on the Discover Ski area, a playground where kids can practice their skiing and snowboarding skills before going out on the hill.
“We’re very excited about winter arriving and the season starting,” said Morrison.
“I think everyone’s going to be very happy this year.”
The ski hill is also currently hiring for all positions, including lift operators, ski school instructors, ski patrol, snowmakers, ticket sales and concession.
Both full and part-time positions are available, and resumes including references can be emailed to info@passpowderkeg.com or faxed to 403-562-2345.
“We’re excited about getting started,” said Morrison.
