The
Crowsnest Pass Chamber of Commerce elected four new directors to its board and named the businesses of the year at the annual general meeting, held on Thursday, November 3rd at the Blairmore Legion, catered by
Country Encounters.
This year, Markus Beck, Shar Lazzarotto, Jeanine Trotz and Anita Ferguson stepped down as board members.
“These people have put in tremendous time and effort on our part and they’ve done a great job for the businesses of the Crowsnest Pass,” said Chamber President Rick Breakenridge, paying a special thanks to Ferguson, one of the key organizers of Crowsnest Christmas.
“Nobody has got the business of the Pass more at heart than Anita,” he said.
Four chamber members – Rick Jeune of Flying Numbers, Sharon Marthaller of Crowsnest Pass Senior Housing and York Creek Lodge, John Redekopp of Canyon Creek Realty, and Pam VamPlew of Mortgage Architects - were nominated to replace the former board members and were elected by acclamation.
Breakenridge thanked former members, as well as the new board members for volunteering their time to serve on the board.
“There will be lots of challenges, and thank you for your willingness to serve,” he said.
“It truly is a service to the community and that willingness is key.”
Jeune, Marthaller, Redekopp and VamPlew will serve on the board of directors for the next two years.
Members also named businesses of the year, in recognition of local businesses which demonstrate excellent customer service and dedication to their field.
