Every week for the past 18 months, I have reported the news and events of this community, but the news I have for you this week is a little different - I’m leaving.
The news may come as a shock to some of you, and believe me, it was pretty shocking for myself and the rest of the Pass Herald as well.
Last week, I saw a posting for a reporter position with the Airdrie City View and Rocky View Weekly.
The idea of being able to move back to Calgary and be near my friends and family was way too good to let it pass me by, so I sent my resume, not really expecting anything to come of it.
Two hours later, I received an email from the papers’ publisher, asking when I would be available for an interview.
I was immediately reminded of when I had sent my application to the Pass Herald on Thanks-giving Day of 2010 and received a response from Lisa a mere half hour later.
The excitement of a positive response from Airdrie was swiftly deflated by the thought of leaving and letting down the amazing crew of the Pass Herald, who have become my family over the past year and a half.
I found myself extremely emotional as I tried to figure out what I should do.
