Extras are wanted for a coming romantic comedy film to be shot this autumn in the Crowsnest Pass/Pincher Creek area. Coming this September, movie directors, film actors and production managers will be in Pincher Creek to hold an open casting call for a movie that will be filmed in and around Crowsnest Pass and Pincher Creek.
The casting crew is looking for men, women and children between the ages of 12-72, for scenes involving an upscale BBQ wedding.
“We want to keep it simple and generic,” said Alyson Lockwood, casting director for the film.
The casting crew is also looking for a four-piece quartet, including a violin, viola and cello.
The casting call will take place on Saturday, Aug 25th, 2012, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Pincher Creek Town Gymnasium, located at 962 St. John Avenue in Pincher Creek.
The film, called “The Right Kind of Wrong,” is the story of Leo Palamino, (played by Ryan Kwanten,) a failed writer come dishwasher made famous for his many flaws and shortcomings in a blog written by his ex wife called “Why You Suck.” Leo meets Colette, (played by Sara Canning), the girl of his dreams. Unfortunately for Leo, however, he meets her on the day of her wedding. This is where the plot gets interesting. Leo, the fearless dreamer risks all to show Colette and the whole world all that is right with a man famous for being wrong. The gripping film is based on the novel written by author Tom Sandlin.
Shooting of the film will take place in the Pincher Creek/ Crowsnest Pass area starting on Sept 17th. No experience is needed, and direction will be given at the casting call about what to do one set. Some extras may be asked to bring clothing with them for the filming.
