Lethbridge going all out
for Alberta Heritage Days

In celebration of the Alberta Heritage Days, Lethbridge Art Council has packed a week of some of southern Alberta’s finest cultural exhibits and performers for Lethbridge Arts Days, which may be well worth the drive to Lethbridge to see and experience.
“What we did with Lethbridge Art Days is we’ve expanded it beyond Alberta Culture days. We have some live music, children’s events, and activities for people of all ages,” said communication spokesperson for Lethbridge Art Council Derek Stevenson.
Perhaps the most anticipated event is the downtown Lethbridge Art Walk. The art walk is the self-guided tour of art exhibits in downtown Lethbridge. Downtown businesses and galleries will open their doors to host an eclectic mix of art displays and demonstrations. Over 50 businesses and over 50 artists will be showcasing everything from photography, textiles, painting and sculpture. The walk will take place September 28-29th, during business hours.

“It’s an all afternoon event,” Stevenson said.
Another highly anticipated event that will occur during Lethbridge Art Days is the film festival, which will showcase local filmmakers from the Lethbridge area. The film festival is excited to present Film Festival award nominee "The Medic.” The film festival will take place on Wednesday, September 26th.
A photo scavenger hunt will occur on Thursday, September 27th, an activity that just like an old-fashioned scavenger hunt but with a new twist- participants will take photos of what they find. The goal is to share your digital photos of the places and things you see during Lethbridge Arts Days.
Musicians Billy Bishop Goes to War, Joel Plaskett and the Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra will also be highlighted during the week.
