Crowsnest Pass, it’s time to get excited about art. The Frank Slide Interpretive Centre is gearing up for a weekend packed with music and artwork, in for Alberta Culture Days.
During the weekend of September 28th-30th, Frank Slide Interpretive Centre will be hosting their fourth annual three-day art exhibit, this year called “Alberta Landscapes.”
The opening of the exhibit will occur on Friday, September 28th at 7 p.m. at the Interpretive Centre, snacks and refreshments provided.
“It’s open to everyone. It’s an opportunity for anyone to come up to the Centre and look at some of the pieces of artwork collected by the Centre,” said Cathy Pisony, Program Coordinator at the Interpretive Centre.
The exhibit mostly features watercolour paintings of the natural landscapes of the Crowsnest Pass.
Also featured during the weekend will be a guest musician from Calgary. Ben Rose will be preforming on Saturday, September 29th at 1 p.m. at the Interpretive Centre.
“We get a huge amount of visitation during this weekend event,” said Pisony. “A large percentage of our viewers are tourists off the highway but we have been getting more residents from the Pass now, which is great.”
There will be no admission charged to the Frank Slide Interpretive Centre during the weekend, and everyone is welcome to attend.
“We encourage everybody to come out and celebrate the art that we have in the Crowsnest Pass area,” said Pisony. “It’s looking to be a great weekend.”
