On the evening of October 24th, Wolf Cub and Beaver Scouts of the Crowsnest Pass were formally invested in ceremonies presided over by their leaders. The new Beavers, also known as “kits” were officially welcomed into their Beaver Colony after proving their knowledge of the Beaver promise, law, and motto. Thereafter they are known as “eager beavers”. The new Wolf Cubs, previously referred to as “tenderpads” conducted a similar ceremony. All the youth received neckerchiefs during the ceremonies, one of the most recognizable uniform items in the worldwide scouting movement.
Neckerchiefs remain, however Scouts Canada redesigned uniforms for all levels of scouting in 2011 to improve their look and function. Watch for the new Beavers and Wolf Cubs at functions around town in the future!
Beavers meet weekly on Wednesdays from 5:30 – 6:30 PM, and Cubs from 7:00 – 8:00 PM at the Compass Centre in Blairmore.
New members, leaders and parent committee members are always welcome. More information is available at the Compass Centre.
