An eventful weekend took place at the Blairmore Legion through November 23-25th.
On Friday, November 23rd, the Blairmore Legion hosted the grand opening of the Blairmore Legion’s new kitchen, as well as a silent auction. The event, which featured local band Common Soul and steak dinners started at 5 p.m. Also included in the night’s festivities were a ribbon cutting for the new kitchen, presentations, a silent auction, door prizes, a cake and meat draws.
A total of $2,185 was raised from the silent auction items, which were donated by 43 businesses from around the Crowsnest Pass.

All proceeds raised from the silent auction went to a wheel chair lift fund for Joe Mahieux, who was paralyzed this past summer.
“It was a very successful night,” said Kathy Lang from the Blairmore Legion. “The turn out was great and everyone participated in the events.”
Also celebrated at the Blairmore Legion during the weekend was the 100th Anniversary Grey Cup Party, sponsored by the Blairmore Legion, Fernie Ford and Sears.
Mary Bodio won the 46” LED Samsung TV, on which the game was watched and then donated the TV back to the Blairmore Legion.
