Busy season coming to the Crowsnest Pass Art Gallery

The Crowsnest Pass Art Gallery is gearing up for a busy winter season in the Pass, starting with their annual winter show, which will showcase both local and area talent.
The winter show, called “No Particular Topic” will open on Saturday, January 26th, with a reception taking place from 1-3 p.m. Admission is free.
Also at the gallery will be “Art Journaling with Jean Blackall” on Saturday, January 19th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The course is deigned for all artists, beginners to experts.
“Jean will help you get inspired and create a journal for your studio days in aid of your creative process,” said a press release from the Art Gallery. “All you need is a sketch book or journal, coloured medium of your choice- as long as it’s portable. And a copy of a page/paragraph of text or poem that inspires you.”
The cost of the class is $50/person.
Dance classes will also resume next month, by popular demand. All classes will run at the art gallery, six Saturday’s in a row, from 7-9 p.m. The first will be salsa dancing, on February 9th and 16th, then disco on February 23 and March 2nd, and finally two-step on March 9th and 16th.
Also coming up just around the corner is the annual Chili Bowl Fest on February 2nd, starting at 11 a.m.
“A week into the preparations and we’ve already had an amazing amount of people volunteering their tasty chili, cookies and their time to help out with the event,” said a press release from the Art Gallery. “The Pottery Club has already been busy with making chili bowls and we are very excited to host this event, as the whole community looks forward to it.”
The cost for the Chili Bowl Fest is $10 for adults and $7 for children aged ten and under. All participants are invited to keep their bowls.
Finally, the Crowsnest Pass Music Festival has been confirmed to happen this year, taking place March 5th-8th, with the final concert and award presentation on Sunday, March 11th.
