Construction on the former River Run building is underway, with plans to be finished by June.
The building, which is located on 129 Street in Blairmore, just off Highway 3, will house four establishments, including the new location of Bamboo Bistro and Blackrock Pizza as well as the Cat’s Meow Bakery. There will also be a new catering establishment, called “Hire a Chef” catering.
Another feature that the restaurant will have is a banquet room, which will seat approximately 30 people. The private banquet facility will be for uses like business meetings and birthday and retirement parties. When not rented out, the room will be used as a lounge.
The construction company tackling the project is Burrows Building Corp, led by President Shane Stewart.
“We’ve worked hard on this project and we’ve come a long ways,” Stewart said. Construction started February 5th.
Bamboo Bistro and Black Rock Pizza is formally located on 20th Avenue in Blairmore. Owner of all four businesses, John Warlow said that the relocation is to expand the business and to move it closer to the highway.
The new Bamboo Bistro is expected to house 75-80 people, around double of what the present location could hold.
Stewart describes the building as an “architecture fusion with an alpine theme.”

“We want to bring quality food and a variety of food to the Pass,” said Warlow. “That has always been our vision.”
Warlow explained that at one time, consideration was given to having both locations open. “We just figured, why not do it all here,” he said.
Stewart said that construction has moved faster than originally planned, considering the amount of work that needed to be done. “The scope of the project has been significant,” said Stewart.
Bamboo Bistro and Black Rock pizza will remain open until around a month before opening at the new location.
