The first home practice for the Pass Piranhas Swim Club took place on Tuesday, May 28th, at the Crowsnest
Community Swimming Pool. Prior to last week, the team had their swim practices in Pincher Creek.

It’s official- the Crowsnest Pass Community Swimming Pool is open. The pool, located on 20th Avenue in Blairmore, made its grand opening on Friday, May 17th- just in time for the May Long Weekend.
“We made it a priority to try to open for the May Long Weekend,” said Director of Community and Protective Services, Alberta Headrick.
Approximately 120 visited the pool over the long weekend, with the majority of the people attending on Monday.
70 seasonal pool passes were sold within the first three days of the pool opening
Headrick explained that there have been several changes to the pool since last summer, including upgrades to the change rooms and bathrooms. In addition new paint has been applied to the outdoor pool area.
Headrick explained that another project for the pool is upgrading the outdoor aesthetics of the pool, including new picnic tables and lawn chairs.
The pool office will also undergo some upgrades as well.
“Its going to be a good season,” said Headrick. “We’re ready.”
The first swim club meet of the season took place on Tuesday, May 14th. Adult-only-open-swim times, new aerobics and life saving programs are some other programs the Blairmore pool will be hosting this summer.
