Crowsnest Pass’s Chief Administrative Officer Myron Thompson resigned at an In-Camera session of Municipal Council on November 5th.

Thompson is saying good-bye after beginning in the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass in September 2010.

Thompson first began working with the municipality as the Director of Operational Services prior to being named CAO.

Thompson took over the position of CAO in November 2011 and was hired by former Mayor Bruce Decoux. He assumed the position, which was vacated by former CAO Tully Clifford.

Of the past 3 years work with the previous council, Thompson recalls the Strategic Plan as a highlight.

“The decision that I have made is for personal reasons,” Thompson told both Council and later the Pass Herald.

“I enjoyed working with the previous council as they had the insight in the changes that were required in Crowsnest Pass.”

Thompson will formally leave the job December 20th.

No word on a replacement has been made.

“The Strategic Plan was evidence that proper planning was required and that changes would be implemented.“

There has been great progress in the Municipality and I am pleased that I was able to be part of that.”

As for what the future holds for Thompson, he remains tight-lipped saying he in need of some reflection and will provide some more insight towards the months’ end.
