The “Naturally Rewarding” signage campaign, mandated by previous municipal council, caused some members of the public to come forward and voice their concerns to the new municipal council.

“Some of our councilors had heard concerns about the relocation of the east entrance sign,” said Crowsnest Pass Mayor Blair Painter.

“There is no cancelling of, nor is there any point to not make use of the signs as the funds have already been spent.”

Once council heard about the publics’ dissatisfaction they questioned Chief Administrative Officer Myron Thompson, who served with the previous council, to explain why the signs were going in on the east entrance sign location.

“One set of signs is being placed at the West End of our municipality and will replace the existing entrance sign,” said Painter.

“The other sign is being placed just east of the Bellevue campground at a new location.”

“The previous council approved the design and purchase of the re-branding, along with all the banners, decals and right down to the stationary,” said Painter.

Earlier on in October 2013, the previous Municipal Council of Crowsnest Pass drove home a motion to take down some misleading signs along Highway 3.

“The new site was chosen because it offered a shared, safe, and landscaped location with the Bellevue Campground,” Thompson told council.

“There will be room for visitors to safely pull off the highway, park and enjoy the views while taking photos.”

After hearing this and some further consideration, council voted four to three in favour of the new location, according to Painter.
