The Crowsnest Pass Ratepayers’ Association has a new president and several other new members who are starting their term off with a message of harmony.“We want to and will work with council for the benefit of the Crowsnest Pass,” said the new president of the Ratepayer’s association, Ed Strembicki. “The Ratepayer’s Association will be the eyes and ears of the community of the Crowsnest Pass.” “This gives them the ability to relate the needs of the taxpayer to a listening council.” A new Ratepayer’s Association was elected at their Annual General Meeting November 28th and with former President Bill Kovach now elected to municipal council, Strembicki threw his name into the hat for nomination. Like the new President said, it’s time to make sure the marriage between the Ratepayer’s Association and Municipal Council works, through both good times and bad. “At this time there are no issues (to bring to Municipal Council),” Strembicki added, “however, times will change and issues will arise.” “The Council will not please everyone because there will always be those who will differ,” said Strembicki. But, cautions Strembicki, it will be our responsibility as an Association too only bring forth legitimate concerns and not try to run Council. HOME PAGE
