Valerie J. Danielson celebrates
20 years in practice

“All my professional career I have been working with people to resolve conflict, personal or legal issues,” said Valerie Danielson, Barrister and Solicitor with Valerie J. Danielson Professional Corporation in Blairmore.

“I’ve never had a single day where I’ve said; ‘Y’know I’m bored’.”

The legal office celebrated their 20th anniversary with an evening get together for friends, members of the general public and business community.

“It’s a full service law firm,” said Danielson who added the firm is capable of handling all the needs of the community.

Valerie J. Danielson and her legal office provides the following services; family law, the general practice of law, real estate, wills, estate and Danielson is a registered family mediators (advanced family mediation and interest-based mediation).

“I set lofty goals for myself and I work hard to achieve them,” she said.

After finishing her first degree to become a psychiatric nurse, Danielson completed an undergraduate degree at Athabasca University,a Juris Doctora degree from U of A, two Master’s Degrees in law including; alternate dispute resolution and family law at Osgood School of Law.

“Since coming to Blairmore, I have completed to degrees, in total, I have four degrees and a nursing diploma and since coming to Blairmore- I have completed to degrees.”

“For me the pursuit of knowledge, it’s insatiable,” said Danielson.


Danielson is now pursuing a 2-year diploma program that qualifies Danielson with the Society of Trusts and Estates Practiotioners, according to Danielson.

S.T.E.P. is an internation organization, focussing on estate and tax matters both domestic and cross border.

“I’m generally interested in people,” said Danielson who continued to say, running a successful law firm means being able to meet the needs of the individual and keeping yourself professional.

Although her law firm has passed it’s 20th anniversary, Danielson says there are many more good years to come.

“I’m trying to envision retirement… no, it’s not in the immediate sphere,” she said laughing.

The Danielson Professional Corporation family continues to grow with the addition of Nathan O’Donnell, student at law, a U of A graduate.

O’Donnell moved here with his wife and young daughter and is currently halfway through his one-year legal study article.
