Besinger handed in his walking papers, December 9th, but will remain in his current position until March, 2014 to see some of the municipality's major projects through such as the upcoming budget, the flood recovery program, as well as working with his replacement. “The position oversees transportation services, utilities, parks and facilities, engineering, planning and development,” according to Crowsnest Pass Chief Administrative Officer Myron Thompson. The decision to quit comes in the wake of the recent heavy snowfalls and freezing temperatures, the public works and operations office is in charge of responding to. Besinger could not be reached for comment by the Pass Herald. “Besinger will stay on as director through the winter until March 28th and the municipality will be seeking a replacement in the near future”, said Thompson.
