On Wednesday, April 9th, due to overnight precipitation and snow melt, water levels rose significantly on Lyons Creek in Blairmore. The situation was further compounded by an ice jam on the 20th Ave. bridge at Lyons Creek. Approval was obtained from Alberta Emergency Management Agency for Municipal crews to work from the bank to remove the ice jam. The Municipality was on site throughout the day and continued to monitor water levels in other creeks and streams throughout the community.
