Dinosaur theme for festival

EZRA BLACK
Pass Herald Reporter
From July 30 to Aug. 3, the Doors Open and Heritage Festival will be celebrating the ancient reptiles that ruled the Pass long ago.
The theme for this year’s festival is Stones and Bones: our Native, Dinosaur and Archaeology Heritage.
The festival is being kicked off with a concert by Juno nominated artist John Wort Hannam and will include a host of dinosaur and historically based events including a talk by paleontologist Phil Currie. There will also be guided bus tour of the Pass’ archaeological history, a modern day dinosaur hunt and events at the Frank Slide Interpretive Centre and the Crowsnest Museum.
There will also be a Crowsnest Country Market in Flumerfelt Park, the annual Show and Shine car show in Bellevue on Aug. 1 and a UROC mountain bike ride to Lille, miniature train rides at NIT, a booze and bars tour and a photography hike to a Burmis vision quest site.
