On May 28, the Visitors’ Information Centre west of Coleman held its annual meet and greet.
Last year, the readers of RV West Magazine voted the Visitors’ Information Centre (VIC) west of Coleman third best in the province.
“The purpose of the meet and greet is to engage business owners and the residents of Crowsnest Pass to get them familiar with our team out here,” said Crowsnest Pass Chamber of Commerce spokesperson Cathy Ward.
The team at the VIC includes site supervisor Zoe Welsh and travel counselors Carling Welsh and Heather Liptak.
“These are our ambassadors for the Pass, they’ll encourage visitors to stay longer and spend more money and that is how we grow,” said Ward.
Several dozen local businesspeople attended Thursday’s meet and greet.
“It gives them a chance to meet us and let them know about their events and we can help promote that when we’re talking to visitors,” said Welsh.

Visitors were treated to food and refreshments provided by the IGA in Blairmore and the VIC staff distributed a questionnaire to test their knowledge of Alberta.
