On Dec. 1, CAO Sheldon Steinke gave a report on the activities of the following municipal departments.
Administration & Finance
Finance is preparing for a final budget worksheet for presentation this week. The department is also developing a process to implement month-end financial cut-offs to ensure all data is recorded into the general ledger in a timely fashion and reporting reflects accurate, current information. A health and spending allowance is being processed for payment.
Corporate Services
Interviews for a new development officer occurred Nov. 30 and Dec. 2. Joint Job Evaluations started on Dec. 7; all questionnaires, job descriptions and manager sign-offs have been completed. The first ever Health and Wellness Account was processed for payment on Nov. 30 in adherence with the collective agreement and the Health and Wellness Spending Account policy.

Planning, Engineering and Operations
The department is working with Sanatec Environmental to install cameras in the sewer main along 20th Avenue in Coleman to monitor for damage. Tree trimming is continuing, weather permitting. Installation of Christmas decorations on streetlights is proceeding.
Formal training is scheduled for snowplow operators. Tenders have closed for the purchase of a street sweeper, hydrovac truck and a maintenance van. No tenders were received for the maintenance van.
Community Services
The ski hill is making snow and preparing for the season. The anticipated opening is Dec. 19.
Protective Services
The interim Deputy Fire Chief is starting work on Dec. 14. The new community peace officer is in the final week of his six-week course in Edmonton at the Solicitor General Staff College.
