The wait is over for movie lovers as Pincher Creek and Crowsnest Pass welcome back the always-popular MEET ME AT THE MOVIES.

Screening a selection of six critically acclaimed films from the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), we are pleased to announce an all-star cinematic lineup and an exciting new partnership with the historic Frank Slide Interpretive Centre. This will ensure the continued opportunity to show a variety of Canadian and international artists and films in our communities.

In partnership with the Crowsnest Pass Allied Arts Association, three movies will be shown at the Frank Slide Interpretive Centre. Join us this winter at this 70-seat hi-definition theatre as we renew our commitment to bring the best of the silver screen to Crowsnest Pass. In addition to great movies and a 50/50 cash draw, stay after the show for a casual discussion with a spectacular view in the lobby of the Frank Slide Interpretive Centre.

“Having the Frank Slide Interpretive Centre as our new partner is a fantastic opportunity for residents of our communities to see some great films in a facility that is consistently considered one of the top scenic locations in the province,” said Crowsnest Pass Allied Arts Association Director Lynnette Jessop. “We are so excited to announce this new partnership that allows us to continue a long-standing tradition of film in the Crowsnest Pass.”

The first film playing at the Frank Slide Interpretive Centre, REMEMBER, stars acclaimed actor Christopher Plummer in a masterful work of suspense and will be shown on Monday, February 22. Directed by Canadian Atom Egoyan, this is a revenge movie at its most disturbing.

Don’t miss Dame Maggie Smith in this delightful comedy, THE LADY IN THE VAN, playing in Pincher Creek on Monday, March 7. Filthy, dressed in rags and living in a van, Smith’s a long way from Downton Abbey as she plays a real-life homeless woman.

Next up at the Frank Slide is JAMES WHITE, an audience favourite at the Sundance Film Festival featuring the directorial debut of John Mond. Join us on Monday, March 21 for this tender look at a young man’s journey of discovery.

Lastly, OUR LOVED ONES is the final film of the season and screens on Monday, April 4 at Frank Slide. Canadian director Anne Emond brings us a sensitive and arresting drama about family ties.
