Customer, employee and owner: not many entrepreneurs can say that they’ve been all three for the same business.

But Kyla Lazzarotto has done it and now this hometown business lady is feeling the love.

Lazzarotto owns an iconic Blairmore business that provides employment for over half-a-dozen workers and ensures Pass residents walk around looking – and feeling – amazing.

She began at Chakras Revitalizing Spa as a customer. When it opened in 2005, the spa’s friendly and talented staff turned her into an immediate fan.

“I’d come here all the time,” she said. “I loved it, I love the atmosphere.”

She made the jump to employee in 2007 when she worked as a receptionist but even then she had dreams of climbing Chakras’ corporate ladder.

“I always hoped that one day I would be able to own it,” she said.

And now she finally does. After becoming a licensed esthetician, Lazzarotto took over ownership of the spa in 2014.

“I grew up here,” she said. “So to be a business owner in my hometown is kind of cool. There’s lots of support, lots of people know you and lots of people come to support you.”

“It’s nice.”

Now Lazzarotto supervises a cadre of professionals who offer a range of services: hairstylist Melisa Tiegen grooms customers in Chakras’ hair salon and estheticians Eunice Maritz and Danielle Grieve offer manicures, pedicures, waxing, tinting, facials and body treatments.

Her employees seem to like Lazzarotto managerial style.

“Kyla is a great boss,” said Grieve. “She’s a good teacher and mentor.”

The spa just welcomed newly registered massage therapist Shayla Schiebout.

Then there are receptionists Felicia Yoner and Vanessa DeBoer.

Chakras just recently began a nose and ear piercing service. Lazzarotto said the spa would be offering a range of specials in the next few months.

“We have full services,” said Lazzarotto. “We do everything, so it’s kind of a one-stop-shop. We have a good atmosphere and we like to take care of our clients and make them feel beautiful, pampered and relaxed.”
