It can get a bit crisp come wintertime, which is why the Coats for Kids program is hoping to keep the community members bundled-up warmly.

Pass residents can donate children’s or adult’s winter clothing to the Stone’s Throw Café in Blairmore.

“Its not necessarily coats just for kids,” explained Stone’s Throw owner Steve Atkinson. “It’s for everybody.”

Atkinson said the coats would be given to the Women’s Resource and Crisis Centre, which distributes the clothing to needy families.

In addition, Atkinson said the Stone’s Throw Café would accept food bank donations at any time of the year.

“We’ll always take food bank donations,” he said. “A lot of people here use the food bank and other services and its important for us to help them.”

The Women’s Resource and Crisis Centre is located in the provincial building. It accepts donations year round.
