As you will see in this issue of the Pass Herald, Ezra Black our reporter for the past two years, has left our newspaper.
The Pass Herald has hired Anna Kroupina a Journalism Major from Concordia University in Montreal.
Kroupina brings a fresh new perspective to the community with experience producing original content for print, digital and video platforms and the ability to speak and write in four languages. Kroupina, hailing from Montreal, has worked at the Vocalist Magazine as a Junior Editor, with over 30 published magazine articles. She has also been a television host for two seasons. Kroupina is coming to the community with a degree in Journalism but not a lot of experience in the weekly newspaper industry. We will be her learning ground.

Kroupina believes that small town community newspapers are the perfect place to learn the trade. “You get to do a little bit of everything”.
Kroupina will start on Nov. 30, allowing her time to make the move from Montreal.
Trevor Slapak, editor, comments, “we are excited to have a new reporter. In my years it’s true that reporters get stale. We are excited for a fresh perspective, new ideas and enthusiams. We know this community will welcome Anna with open arms”.
In the interim Lisa Sygutek will be the acting reporter. If you have an event or a news story of interest contact the Pass Herald and Sygutek will be there pen and camera in hand.
