Don’t get caught unaware by a bear!
The Crowsnest Pass Bearsmart Association held their biennial Community Bear Awareness course on September 10. “The purpose is to get some education out there on how to handle bear encounters and how to use bear spray,” says Bearsmart president Christy Pool. Participants also learned how to identify food sources, bear habitats, bear scat and bear species, and how to respond in specific bear-encounter scenarios.
